Overview

We’re seeking a full-time senior accountant to support the accounting process at Merlin.  This role is for someone who is detail oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating a self-starting, affirmative behavior. The successful candidate will be focused on assisting with accounting duties across Merlin’s client base which span across venture capital, private equity, pharmaceutical and technology industries, as well as,  helping to drive efficiencies within the executive team and extended partnership.  

Timing: Q1 2023 // Reports to the CFO

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end activities, including account reconciliations, analysis of due to/from accounts creating and posting monthly accrual journal entries, 
  • Coordinating with customers to obtain their financial results in a timely manner
  • Financial reporting, preparation of supporting schedules, and data analysis
  • Assist in preparation of 1099/1096 documents,  work with tax accountants
  • Work with growth stage client companies to prepare for fundraising events
  • Assist the VP of Finance and Operations with maintaining and analyzing budgets

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years accounting experience, Financial Services preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with QuickBooks, a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience with Google Suite, a plus

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience including base salary ($90,000-$115,000), bonus (up to 10%)and equity potential
